Who we are

This website, myeventcourse.com, is run by Eventunity Ltd, trading as My Event Course (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15736904. Our address is 167-169 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 7LT. You can contact us at mark@myeventcourse.com.

By using this website, downloading the free EOS Map or buying any of our products, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or buy from us. You must be 18 or over to buy from us.

Our products

These terms cover:

  • The Event Operating System (EOS) Map: a free download.
  • The EOS Starter Kit: a set of working templates, sold as a one-off digital download.
  • Plan Like a Pro: an online course that includes the full set of templates and course materials.
  • Any other products we add to myeventcourse.com, unless they come with their own terms.

All our products are digital. We do not send anything in the post.

Prices, tax and payment

Prices are in US dollars and are shown on the product page when you buy. Where tax, such as VAT, applies, it is added at checkout and shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Your bank may charge currency conversion fees, which we do not control.

Your order is accepted when we confirm it and give you access to your product. We may refuse or cancel an order, for example because of a pricing error or suspected fraud. If we do, we will refund anything you have paid.

Getting your product

We deliver digital products straight after payment, by download or through your account. If you have not received access within 24 hours, email us and we will sort it out.

The Starter Kit discount code

When you buy the Starter Kit, we give you a personal discount code worth $27 off Plan Like a Pro. The code can be used once, by you only, and must be used within 30 days of buying the Starter Kit. It cannot be combined with other offers, transferred to someone else or exchanged for cash.

Your right to cancel, and refunds

EOS Starter Kit. The law normally gives you 14 days to cancel an online purchase. That right does not apply to digital content once we have started to supply it with your agreement. At checkout we ask you to confirm that you want the Starter Kit supplied immediately and that you understand you lose your right to cancel once the download begins. For that reason, the Starter Kit is not refundable once you have downloaded or opened it.

If the Starter Kit is faulty, will not open or is not as described, email us. We will repair it, replace it or refund you, as the law requires. This does not affect your legal rights.

Plan Like a Pro. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not happy for any reason, email mark@myeventcourse.com within 30 days of buying and we will refund the full amount you paid. You do not need to give a reason. We will refund you to your original payment method within 14 days, and your access will then end. After the 30 days, we do not offer refunds unless the course is faulty or not as described.

Your licence to use our templates and course materials

When you buy from us or download the free Map, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the templates and course materials for:

  • your own events, including events you organise for your employer, and
  • events you organise for clients, if you work as a freelancer or agency.

You may adapt the templates to suit each event. You may give a client the completed documents you produce, such as a finished budget or run sheet, but not the blank templates or our course materials.

You may not:

  • copy, share, resell, lend, license or give away our templates, videos, downloads or course materials, in whole or in part, to anyone else, including colleagues, who each need their own copy;
  • post them online, in a group or on a marketplace;
  • use them to create or teach your own course, workshop, training product or template pack; or
  • remove our copyright notices.

Course access

Plan Like a Pro is for one person. Keep your login private and do not let anyone else use your account. If we find an account is being shared, we may suspend it.

“Lifetime access” means access for as long as we offer the course. If we decide to stop offering it, we will give you reasonable notice by email. We aim to keep the course running smoothly, but we cannot promise it will always be available without interruption.

Updates, changes and support

We may update, add to, change or remove lessons, templates and other content from time to time. The core of what you bought will stay broadly the same.

If you need help, email mark@myeventcourse.com. We aim to reply within 2 working days (Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays). Support covers access, downloads and how to use what you bought. We do not offer individual coaching, and we do not review or give advice on your own event plans.

Not professional advice: your event is your responsibility

Our products are for education and general guidance. The templates and lessons, including anything on risk assessment, safety, operations and licensing, are starting points. They are not legal, health and safety, insurance, licensing or other professional advice, and they do not replace advice specific to your event.

You are responsible for your own events, including the safety of everyone involved, your own risk assessments, licences and permissions, insurance, and compliance with the law that applies to you. Larger or higher-risk events, such as those with big crowds, temporary structures, pyrotechnics, outdoor sites or licensable activities, need qualified professional advice.

We do not guarantee any particular result from using our products. Examples, case studies and testimonials show what happened for particular people or in fictional example events. Your results will vary.

Community, comments and anything you post

If the site lets you post comments or join a community, you are responsible for what you post. Keep it lawful, respectful and relevant. Do not post spam, harassment, hateful or abusive content, advertising, confidential information, personal information about other people, or anything you do not have the right to share.

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a free, non-exclusive licence to host and display it on the site. We do not check posts before they appear and are not responsible for what users post. We may remove content, and suspend access, if these rules are broken.

Using the site properly

Do not misuse the site. That includes trying to access other people’s accounts or non-public areas, copying content by automated means, interfering with how the site works, uploading anything harmful, or breaking the law. If you break these terms, including the licence rules, we may suspend or end your access without a refund, unless the law says otherwise.

Intellectual property

All content on the site and in our products, including templates, lessons, videos, text, the Event Operating System framework and the My Event Course name and logo, belongs to Eventunity Ltd or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. You receive only the licence described above. We keep all other rights.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. It also does not affect your legal rights as a consumer, including that digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

Subject to that:

  • we are not responsible for losses that were not a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms;
  • we are not liable for loss of profit, income, business, contracts or goodwill, for the cancellation of or costs of any event, or for indirect or consequential loss, and if you use our products in the course of a business, these exclusions apply in full;
  • our total liability to you for all claims relating to a product is limited to the amount you paid for that product; and
  • the free EOS Map is provided as it is, free of charge, so we are not liable for losses arising from using it.

Privacy and cookies

How we use your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy, and how we use cookies in our Cookie Policy. We only send marketing emails to people who have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. The terms in force when you bought a product continue to apply to that purchase, unless the law requires us to change them. If we make a significant change, we will tell you.

General

  • We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including problems with the third-party services we use for payments, video hosting and email.
  • These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about your purchase.
  • If any part is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
  • If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to another business, and will tell you if we do.
  • Only you and we have rights under this agreement. No one else can enforce it under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute about them, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring a claim in your local courts. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the mandatory consumer protections of your own country.
